The University of Greifswald’s Kustodie will offer daily guided tours through the Aula and the Karzer (student detention cell) from the 1st April until the 31st October, Mondays to Sundays at 3.00 p.m.
Look into the eyes of great thinkers and over the shoulders of talented doctors of the University of Greifswald. Get to know the history of Pomerania’s Alma Mater and of the oldest Swedish University. Learn more about the University during the political upheavals of the past 200 years. We are going to show you the baroque Aula and you can take a look at our prison. Be amazed by the pranks played by former students who had to spend time here.
In exceptional cases (for instance during University events), you cannot visit the Aula. As an alternative, you can visit the Konzilsaal in the University Main Building, the Auditorium Maximum or the historical lecture hall with its original benches that is still in use today.
The guided tour is open to the public; prior registration is not required.
