Study Abroad
Studying abroad can be one of the most influential experiences of your life. Exchange programmes make it possible for you to study at one of our numerous partner universities. With the University of Greifswald’s programmes, you have the chance to complete one or two exchange semesters, e.g. via Erasmus+ or university exchange agreements.
- The credit points you have gained abroad can be recognised towards your degree in Greifswald. Contact the subject advisor for your degree course when planning your stay abroad.
- Most degree courses have mobility windows which can be used for stays abroad.
- You can request a leave of absence at Greifswald’s Students’ Registration Office. This means that your stay abroad will not count toward the number of semesters you have taken to complete your degree course. Information about leaves of absence can be found here [de].
Do not be put off by your lack of financial means. Suitable funds are available for any kind of plans. We have created a list of available funding here and will be happy to answer any questions you may have during our office hours.
“I am grateful that I had the opportunity to gather so many different experiences, getting to know and build friendships with people from all over the world, gaining a unique insight into Norwegian culture and the university system, and learning about so many things, [...] taking part in the brilliant Erasmus events, experiencing the vastness of the forest, and so much more.”
(Alexander, Erasmus+ semester in Norway)
Alexander and other outgoers talk about their experiences abroad on our blog Greifswald goes International [de] and our podcast [de].
